Industrial 3D Design
Phil had initially reached out to me on Layers. We eventually kicked things off. He had an idea for a fitness wearable with an already-prepared spec sheet for the product. My role here was to design and visualise the device with the provided details. In software, changing a button, animation, or workflow often costs little more than development time. In hardware, a similarly small design change can affect tooling, materials, assembly processes, testing, logistics, and manufacturing yields, causing costs to compound across every unit produced.
This resulted in us having a series of iteration sessions and versions. Phil proved, throughout this process, to be such an amazing client to work with. After the first version was done, I made deliverables available to him and also prepared assets for the website. As said, industrial design is much more different and we’d have to design a second version after more changes to the PCBs and effects to the BOM (Bill of Materials). The versions on my Behance were the first. To see the new units, visit Zykeband website.
